Yuri and ‘No Breathing’ Cast Attend ‘Mega Talk’ Event

On October 30th, Yuri and the rest of her “No Breathing” costars attended a “Mega Talk” event to promote the release of their movie. The stage greeting was held at the Megabox Coex in Samsung-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. The actors gathered together in front of the press and their fans to answer questions and speak about the long-awaited release of their film.
Yuri posted the above photo on her Instagram with a caption saying, “There is another stage greetings on the 7th”. She also later commented, “I’ll see you again on the 7th, I have another stage greeting”. The “No Breathing” cast posed for a number of photos for the media members present.

Girls’ Generation Becomes Spokesperson for ‘Blade & Soul’

Tencent Games recently announced the release of the new MMORPG game, “Blade & Soul”. The Chinese company launched a beta test for the game on October 29th. Previously, it had hinted that the theme of the launch would be “youth” and that there would be a game representative, but the identity of the representative was kept secret. Later, Tencent Games revealed that the spokesperson for “Blade & Soul” was none other than Girls’ Generation.
The girls have sponsored many games in the past, including “Dungeon Fighter”, “Maplestory”, and “Mabinogi”. For “Blade & Soul”, Tencent Games has released a CF, asking, “What is the color of youth?” The answer, of course, is, “Asia’s Popular Idol Group: Girls’ Generation”. There are several shots of the girls posing for a photoshoot before Taeyeon says, “I love ‘Blade & Soul’!” At the end of the CF, Yoona greets the viewers: “Hello, hello. Everyone, I’m Yoona. I’m waiting for you in ‘Blade & Soul’.”

Girls’ Generation Performs at ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Tokyo Special Edition’

On October 26th and 27th, Girls’ Generation and their SM Entertainment labelmates returned to Japan to perform at “SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Tokyo Special Edition”. Taking the stage the Tokyo Dome, the artists entertained fans with many amazing performances on both days.


Girls’ Generation performed a setlist that included their popular hits including “FLOWER POWER”, “GALAXY SUPERNOVA”, “LOVE&GIRLS”, “PAPARAZZI”, “I Got A Boy”, “Kissing You”, and many more. There were also a number of special stages with collaborations between the stars of SM Entertainment. Tiffany and Super Junior-M’s Henry performed a cover of Ariana Grande’s “Almost Is Never Enough” first. Later, Seohyun, while playing the guitar, and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun took the stage for their own version of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Beautiful”. Hyoyeon took part in a powerful dance battle with the other SM Entertainment groups’ main dancers and Girls’ Generation – TTS performed “Twinkle”. The concerts concluded with the final stage consisting of the entire SM Entertainment family standing together singing “Hope”.
Super Junior’s Heechul posted a photo of himself with Sunny on his Instagram account following the October 26th concert. Taken backstage, he wrote, “SMTOWN in Tokyo Dome. Sunny Sunny Sunny I love you~ I need you~ with Honeypot Soonkyu. Soonkyu is cute cute. My face is pale….” Super Junior’s Ryeowook also tweeted a number of backstage photos with Girls’ Generation members. He took photos of himself with Jessica and Yoona, Sunny, Hyoyeon and Yuri, and finally Seohyun.

Yoona Becomes First Overseas Endorser for Alcon

Girls’ Generation’s Yoona has become the new endorser for Alcon Taiwan, a contact lenses brand. With Yoona’s clear and natural aura as well as her bright eyes, she completely expresses Alcon’s contact lenses with a natural and comfortable image. With her popularity in South Korea and acceptance of the offer to become Alcon’s endorser, she is expected to set off the “Aqua Generation”(Editor’s note: pun on Girls’ Generation) wave.
As Girls’ Generation’s visual, Yoona was voted first as “Asia’s Goddess” in September of this year. With a pair of bright and clear eyes, she was nicknamed “Little Deer”. Yoona also revealed her secret of keeping her eyes hydrated and bright: “Choosing contact lenses is very important; I like to choose contact lenses that are comfortable, hydrated, and have a high amount of water, just like Alcon’s technology that allows my pair of eyes to remain clean and fresh, naturally brightening my eyes.”

Girls’ Generation Attends VIP Premiere of ‘No Breathing’ in Support of Yuri

  On October 25th, the members of Girls’ Generation attended the VIP premiere of “No Breathing” at Megabox COEX in Samsung-dong, Seoul. Yuri was the first Girls’ Generation member to walk the red carpet of the VIP event, posing for photos with the other members of the cast of “No Breathing”. The other eight members of Girls’ Generation appeared together soon after, showing their support for their fellow member. Unfortunately, Sunny was not spotted with a loudspeaker or a helmet.

Sooyoung Wins ‘Best K-Style’ Award at ’2013 Style Icon Awards’

On October 24th, Sooyoung attended the “2013 Style Icon Awards” held at the CJ E&M Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Arriving at the event in a black dress that accentuated her slim figure and long legs, Sooyoung posed for photos by the media on the red carpet.

 During the award ceremony, Sooyoong received the “Best K-Style” award alongside actor Choi Jinhyuk. Accepting the award in an elegant blue dress, she delivered a short speech giving thanks to her family and group members.

Taeyeon Shares Photos Using New Instagram Account

On March 17th, Taeyeon opened an Instagram account and, to the delight of fans, has begun to share photos with her rapidly growing list of followers. Instagram is a photo-sharing service that allows users to quickly take pictures and share them through the internet.
Taeyeon continues to upload new images to her Instagram, ranging from a snapshot of her shoes to a photo of a road in Japan. Taeyeon also posted a message in an image, in which she explained why she chose to begin using Instagram. Her message reads:
Everyone! This is Taeyeon from Japan~ I am always looking for ways to interact with you all, and I want to share happy news with you all the time! I’ve always used the official homepage and UFOtown but I felt that was missing… something? (There are lots of small things that I want to share from time to time) But it’s not like I can spam the official homepage… that’s just not right ㅜ and UFOtown is just me receiving questions to answer.. I thought… it would be nice if I could ask you questions as well ^^ I know exactly what everyone is worried about right now. I also don’t want me or anyone close to me to be hurt.. Yuri Attends ‘No Breathing’ Press Conference

On October 22nd, Yuri attended a press conference for “No Breathing” alongside her co-stars, including Lee Jongsuk, Seo Inguk, and Park Chulmin, as well as the film’s director. The press conference took place at CGV Wangsimni Theaters. During the press conference, Yuri spoke about the movie’s swimming theme and her character’s role, saying, “First of all, I liked that it was a movie about swimming. It had the liveliness of youth, and it was appealing thinking that it could be a genre where I could show a fresh appearance naturally, as it is.”
She said, “I felt a sense of kinship with the character of Yoon Jungeun in the film as soon as I saw her, because there were a lot of similarities between the way she chases her dream, and how I spent my trainee days before becoming a singer. So I was really attached to her and was able to act comfortably.”
Yuri also spoke about her group members, and stated, “There is a group chatroom where I talk to all the members of Girls’ Generation in. In that room, we talk about each of our works. The members really liked ‘No Breathing’ because they know that I like swimming.”
She continued, confessing, “However, unfortunately, I am not a swimmer, but play the role of a musician. The members were sad about it, but they like movies so much, and they look up close at things I have an interest in. They supported my appearance in ‘No Breathing’.”
Yuri also mentioned the lack of a kiss scene in the movie, saying, “I had some disappointment regarding a kiss scene. There are refreshing scenes that will take the place of a kiss scene, so I filmed with a happy heart.”
Yuri was also asked to pick one of the two actors, Lee Jongsuk and Seo Inguk, and said, “I’m happy just thinking about it. Do I have to choose?”
Finally, actor Park Chulmin spoke about working with Yuri, stating, “I liked that she played around with me.” After showing a smile, he added, “I’m a senior in acting, and there is an age gap, so it would have been uncomfortable and difficult if Yuri was careful and polite.”
He revealed, “I had worries like that, so I liked that she played around with me, more than my daughter does. It was like living with my daughter. Today too, she called me ‘Dad’ as soon as she saw me, so I requested that she call me ‘oppa’. I liked that we could spend time closely without reserve.”

‘No Breathing’ Releases Music Video for Yuri’s OST, ‘Bling Star’

On October 22nd, “No Breathing” released the official music video for “Bling Star”, Yuri’s OST for the upcoming film. The music video features scenes from the movie, as well as clips of Yuri in a recording studio, and Yuri’s voice can be heard throughout the video. Later tonight, Yuri and her co-stars from “No Breathing” will appear on “Naver Line Star Chat” to talk with fans and discuss the film. Yuri will also sing “Bling Star” on air.
“Bling Star” is currently available for purchase from various Korean download sites, including MelOn (one-minute preview). “Bling Star” can also be purchased from iTunes. Another song by Yuri for the “No Breathing” OST, “Banjjak Banjjak”, is also available for purchase (one-minute preview).

Yuri to Appear on ‘Naver Line Star Chat’ and Sing New OST Song for ‘No Breathing’

At 8:00 PM KST tonight, October 22nd, the three main actors of “No Breathing” will appear on air with “Naver Line Star Chat” for an hour to speak with fans and talk about their upcoming movie. It has also been revealed that Yuri will sing a new OST song, entitled “Bling Star”, for the soundtrack of “No Breathing”. The music video for “Bling Star” will be shown tonight during Yuri’s appearance on “Naver Line Star Chat”.

Yoona Cast as Lead Female Role in New Drama, ‘Prime Minister Is Dating’

According to a source, Yoona has been confirmed as the lead role of the KBS 2TV Monday/Tuesday drama, “Prime Minister Is Dating”. “Prime Minister Is Dating” will consist of a love story between a country’s prime minister and a young, female reporter who is trying to gather news on him. Yoona will be taking on the role of a 28-year-old female reporter, and Lee Bumsoo will play the opposing role as a prime minister in his 40′s, the country’s youngest ever.
“Prime Minister Is Dating” was originally planned to air under the title “Prime Minister and I”, but through a recent discussion, a title change and extensive story change were decided on. It was also known as being a Korean version of the film “The Sound of Music”, with a story about a prime minister and a private teacher who enters his home. However, the production team and writer decided to draw out the story with an emphasis on the prime minister and reporter. “Prime Minister Is Dating” will be a family and romantic comedy between a prime minister in his 40′s, and a female reporter in her 20′s, with a winter background.
A source stated, “Yoona and Lee Bumsoo will start filming at the end of October. Though the two leads have a 20 year age difference, with Lee Bumsoo being 43 years old and Yoona 23 years old in real life, a new kind of chemistry is being anticipated. Yoona’s acting transformation will also become an important point to watch.”
Meanwhile, “Prime Minister Is Dating” is scheduled to begin airing in December, following the drama “Choice of the Future”.

Girls’ Generation Performs at ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour III’ in Beijing

On October 19th, Girls’ Generation and the other SM Entertainment superstars performed at the Beijing stop for “SMTOWN Live World Tour III”. Taking place at National Stadium, the event featured the girls as well as Kangta, BoA, TVXQ!, Super Junior, Zhang Liyin, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and TASTY for another amazing concert for the fans in attendance. Girls’ Generation gave a spectacular performance with a setlist that included “Gee”, “Genie”, “I Got A Boy”, and other classic hits. The girls also introduced themselves to all of their fans, even speaking a little Mandarin. There were a number of special stages such as Girls’ Generation – TTS’s “Twinkle”, Taeyeon’s signature “Devil’s Cry”, the dance battle with Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Yoona, and many more, concluding with the final stage with the entire SM Entertainment family.

B-ing CFs Released Featuring Taeyeon

In August of this year, Taeyeon filmed several CFs in Thailand for the beverage company, B-ing. On October 14th and 15th, B-ing released videos on YouTube of two television CFs promoting their brand’s product with Taeyeon. Both of the CFs show Taeyeon appearing on the billboard and speaking some Thai in the video clips. Apart from that, the image pictured above is the latest cover photo on B-ing’s official Facebook page.

SK Telecom LTE Unveils New Videos and Photos of Yoona

After releasing new CFs last week, SK Telecom LTE unveiled even more promotional photos and videos featuring Yoona. In the first short video, Yoona explains a special event held by SK Telecom for those who have the company’s phones. The second clip is a fun and cute CF with Yoona and f(x)’s Sulli. The two enthusiastically play with and use the brand’s LTE data service and at the end of the video, Yoona packs up all of her things while Sulli is left endlessly swinging her arm and phone. ‘Cosmopolitan’ Magazine to Feature Yuri in November Issue

“Cosmopolitan” magazine has revealed that its upcoming issue will feature Yuri for a photoshoot and interview. The magazine released three teaser photos of Yuri from the photoshoot and a preview of the interview, which will revolve around “No Breathing”, Yuri’s upcoming movie to be released on October 30th. Yuri plays Jungeun, the film’s female lead. Through her photoshoot with Cosmopolitan, Yuri explained, “Jung Eun is far from a typical first love. In the film, she’s a laid-back person who often hits Seo Inguk in the back of the head and devours chicken feet like it’s nothing when in front of a guy that likes her.”
In regards to working with the currently-popular guys, Lee Jongsuk and Seo Inguk, she revealed, “I was surprised because both of their images were the complete opposite of what I thought. Seo Inguk, who I thought would be a considerate oppa, surprisingly gave off an appealing, bad boy feel. And Lee Jongsuk, who I thought would only be chic, was unpredictably playful.”
The photoshoot and interview with Yuri, who says she wants to continue to act as more diverse characters for a long time, will be revealed through the November issue of Cosmopolitan.
